STLTH-Compatible Pods Explained: How Pods Work and Which Ones Fit (2026 Guide)

How Do Vape Pods Work?

A pod system has two main parts:

  1. The device (battery). This is the reusable part. It holds the battery, the charging port and, on many models, a screen, airflow control and power modes.
  2. The pod. This is the replaceable part. It holds the e-liquid and the coil that heats it.

When you inhale through the mouthpiece, a draw sensor in the device detects the airflow and sends power to the coil. The coil heats the e-liquid held in the cotton wick next to it and turns it into vapour. When the pod is empty, you remove it and snap in a new one. Most pods attach with magnets or a snap fit, so swapping takes a few seconds.

STLTH pods are closed pods, which means they come pre-filled and are not meant to be refilled. STLTH's manual specifically warns against refilling the pod cartridges, because it can damage the device and the pod.

What's inside a pod

  • E-liquid reservoir: the tank that holds the liquid.
  • Coil: a small heating element, often a mesh coil in modern pods.
  • Wick: the cotton that carries liquid to the coil.
  • Mouthpiece: where you inhale, sometimes with a soft tip.
  • Contacts or magnets: how the pod connects to the device's power and holds in place.

STLTH Pod Compatibility: What Fits What

This is where most mistakes happen. Based on retailer listings and STLTH's own materials:

Notes

STLTH Loop Max

STLTH Loop Max pods only

Not compatible with Loop 9K, Loop 25K or Switch pods

STLTH Loop 2

Existing STLTH Loop pods and VICE Loop pods

The e-liquid indicator works exclusively with the newer STLTH Loop 9K pods

Two things stand out:

  • Loop Max is its own platform. Its pod holds 30 mL of e-liquid and is rated at up to 70,000 puffs. The device has a 1,000 mAh battery, USB-C charging, adjustable airflow, Normal and Boost output modes, and a screen showing e-liquid and battery levels. None of that helps if you buy the wrong pod, because the Loop Max device only accepts Loop Max pods.
  • Loop 2 is more flexible. It has an 850 mAh battery, airflow adjustment, a LED display with battery and e-liquid indicators, and USB-C charging. It can use existing STLTH Loop pods and VICE Loop pods, but the e-liquid level indicator only works with the Loop 9K pods.

Puff counts are manufacturer estimates. See our guide to puff count and what you really get.

Quick compatibility guide

Use this checklist before you buy:

  1. Find your exact device name. Look at the device or the original box. "STLTH" alone isn't enough.
  2. Match the pod to the device generation. A pod made for one platform may not fit another, even if they look similar.
  3. Check the product page for a compatibility line. Good listings say which devices a pod fits and which it doesn't.
  4. When in doubt, ask. If you're not sure, ask the retailer before ordering.

If you shop at Clutch Vape, our team can confirm compatibility for you in store or online.

Which STLTH Pods Are Best?

There's no single best pod. The best one is the one that matches your device and your habits.

Best for Loop Max owners: Loop Max pods

If you own the Loop Max device, Loop Max pods are your only option. The pod is the biggest in the lineup at 30 mL, and the large capacity means fewer swaps. It also has a soft-tip mouthpiece and magnetic attachment, and the device can show the real-time e-liquid level.

Best for Loop 2 owners who want the e-liquid indicator: Loop 9K pods

The Loop 2 device works with several pod types, but the Loop 9K pods are the ones that unlock the e-liquid level indicator. If you want to see when to replace the pod at a glance, choose those.

Best for Loop 2 owners who want flavour variety: other STLTH Loop and VICE Loop pods

Because the Loop 2 works with existing STLTH Loop pods and VICE Loop pods, you have a wider choice of flavours, though without the e-liquid indicator on non-9K pods.

A Warning About Imitation and Non-STLTH Pods

STLTH's manual says its devices are designed for STLTH pod cartridges and STLTH e-liquids, and that pods not made by STLTH shouldn't be used. It also warns not to insert, inhale from or charge a device with an imitation pod. Counterfeit or mismatched pods can leak, fail to fire or damage the device, and may not meet Canadian requirements. Buy pods from a retailer that sells stamped, properly labelled products.

How to Use and Swap a Pod

  1. Charge the device first. Use the right USB-C cable and unplug when it's full.
  2. Remove the new pod's cap or seal if it has one.
  3. Press the pod into the device until it clicks or the magnets seat it.
  4. Inhale gently through the mouthpiece to activate it.
  5. Take a few gentle puffs at first to let the wick saturate, rather than long, hard pulls.
  6. When the pod is empty, pull it out and replace it. If your device has a screen, it can show when e-liquid is low.

Pod Care and Safety Tips

  • Don't charge with the pod inserted. STLTH's manual says never to leave a pod inserted while the device is charging.
  • Don't refill pods. They're sealed and not designed for it.
  • Don't leave the device unattended with a pod inserted.
  • Deal with condensation. If liquid builds up around the mouthpiece, remove the pod and dab it with a tissue. STLTH's manual describes the same approach.
  • Store pods upright, at room temperature, away from heat and sunlight.
  • Keep devices and pods away from children and pets.
  • Never puncture, burn or submerge the device, pods or cable.
  • Don't charge in a vehicle, as STLTH's manual advises.

If a pod tastes burnt or stops firing, see our guide on why a disposable vape tastes burnt or stops working. Most of the same causes apply to pods.

When Should You Replace a Pod?

Replace a pod when:

  • The device or screen shows e-liquid is low or empty
  • The flavour fades and the hit turns harsh or burnt
  • The pod leaks heavily or the mouthpiece keeps flooding
  • The device stops firing even with a fully charged battery and a clean connection

Don't keep pulling on a pod that tastes burnt, because it won't improve.

Are Pods Cheaper Than Disposables?

Often, for regular vapers, because you pay for the device once and then only for pods. The more you use, the more the device cost fades into the background. We break down the math, with a break-even formula you can use with your own prices, in our guide to pod vapes vs disposables.

If you're new to pod systems, our beginner starter kit guide explains your options.

Disposing of Pods and Devices

Pods and devices contain batteries or electronic parts and belong in a battery or electronics drop-off, not household garbage or curbside recycling. Programs vary by province, and some regions, such as Quebec, have dedicated vape collection through Call2Recycle. Check your local program before you toss a used pod or an old device.

Buying Pods in Canada

In Canada, vaping products have a federal nicotine cap of 20 mg/mL, Health Canada labelling requirements and excise stamps, and provinces add their own age and flavour rules. Buy from a retailer that verifies age and sells stamped, properly labelled products.

At Clutch Vape you can order online with shipping across Canada, or visit us in Toronto or Mississauga and our team will help you find the right pod for your device. For other options, see our guides to the best disposable vapes in Canada and STLTH vs KRAZE.

Frequently Asked Questions

What pods are compatible with STLTH devices?

It depends on the device. The STLTH Loop Max works only with Loop Max pods. The STLTH Loop 2 works with existing STLTH Loop pods and VICE Loop pods.

Are STLTH pods universal?

No. Pods are made for specific devices, and a pod for one platform may not fit another.

Can I use Loop 9K or Loop 25K pods in a Loop Max?

No. According to retailer listings, the Loop Max device is exclusively compatible with Loop Max pods and isn't compatible with Loop 9K, Loop 25K or Switch pods.

Can I refill STLTH pods?

No. STLTH pods are pre-filled closed pods, and STLTH's manual advises against refilling them.

How long does a Loop Max pod last?

It's rated at up to 70,000 puffs from 30 mL of e-liquid, but that's a manufacturer estimate. Real-world life depends on your puffs, power mode and airflow. See our guide on how long a 50,000 puff disposable lasts for how to convert claims into realistic estimates.

Why isn't my pod working?

Common causes include a flat battery, a pod that isn't fully seated, a blocked airflow path or an empty pod. Check the connection, charge the device, and try a new pod. Don't charge with the pod inserted.

Do pods leak?

Sometimes. Condensation around the mouthpiece is common, and heavy leaking can mean a damaged pod. Wipe the mouthpiece with a tissue and replace the pod if the leaking continues.

Are pod systems less wasteful than disposables?

Often, because you keep the device and replace only the pod. Pods and batteries still need proper disposal.

Is vaping safer than smoking?

Health Canada says vaping is generally less harmful than smoking for adults who switch completely, but it is not harmless, and nicotine is addictive. If you don't smoke, vaping isn't recommended.

The Bottom Line

Pods work by pairing a reusable battery device with a replaceable pre-filled pod, which makes them simple to use and less wasteful than disposables. With STLTH, the key is matching the pod to your exact device: Loop Max takes only Loop Max pods, while Loop 2 accepts existing STLTH Loop pods and VICE Loop pods, with the e-liquid indicator working on the Loop 9K pods. Check compatibility before you buy, avoid imitation pods, and never charge with a pod inserted.
